Oh gosh, I haven't written a journal entry since last spring, I'm such a fail XD

No but really, I have barely even checked my deviantART account since last spring...maybe 4 times between the summer and fall, but nothing more.  I know, I've neglected this wonderful community, but please, let me just take a brief moment of your day to explain why I have been gone for so long.  I will do my best to keep this "short and sweet" because we all know that no one likes to read really long journal entries, right?  Henceforth, I digress.

Let me start you off back in...uhh, April?  In April I was finishing drafting up the final blueprints to a steel bridge that I had help designed.  The blueprints were for the welder and the steel cutters to manufacture the bridge before my team brought it to competition (this is the American Society of Civil Engineering's Steel Bridge Competition).  Once the bridge was manufactured, we went to compete at the regional competition at Laval University in Quebec City, Quebec.  We won 3rd place overall which pushed us to nationals at A&M University in Texas.

In the month of May, I was finishing up my sophomore year in college at Wentworth Institute of Technology (which is my fourth year altogether in college).  My architecture finals were killing me which is what initiated the stopping sequence of being online in general.  At the time, I was dating a wonderful girl by the name of *HeatherAnmarie  In fact, May was her birthday so I had bought her a dozen tulips, her favorite flowers.  Remember, we're on opposite ends of the country, her in California, me in Maine/Massachusetts.  

After school got out, I worked on restoring a wooden yacht with my dad called Otter (for those who know boats, she's a 1954 41' Concordia yawl).  Did that up until the end of June.  At the end of June, I headed up to the University of Maine in Orono where I taught CAD (Computer Aided Design) for a week.  Mid July came around really quickly and soon I was back up at the university instructing on bridge design and other transportation related fields for two weeks.  The end of July was a nice surprise to my dad.  For his 50th birthday, we took a special train ride up the White Mountains of New Hamshire, a special steam run all the way from North Conway to Hazens, which was the first steam train to run those miles since 1950 something.

The first weekend in August is always a sailing regatta called the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta based in Maine's very own Penobscot Bay.  In this regatta, I sail Otter, the very boat I restore.  This year we got 1st place overall on the feeder race and 3rd place over all on the Egg Rock race.  Throughout the summer I also was playing the steel drums at various venues throughout the mid-coast area of Maine with a steel drum band called Steelin' Thunder.  Look us up on youtube, we're pretty awesome.  The 21st of the month was my 22nd birthday, and that day I drove to Vermont with my parents in an effort to find me a co-op (internship) at a company called Connor Homes.  Haven't heard of them?  Check 'em at connorbuilding.com  New houses, in an old style, built completely modularly in wall panels, for fast and simple assembly.  It's pretty sick.  Anyhow, ended up bagging that co-op for my spring semester of school.

In September I started college again for now my junior year at Wentworth and the start of my 5th year over all.  I had a few DJing gigs this month with my DJing company, Wallex Entertainment.  Shit tons (it's a standard unit of measurement, didn't you know) of homework and school work.  Bleh.

October rolls around and it's a worst version of September.  More work.  Bleh part 2.  Mom turned 52.  Halloween happens.  I start planning a trip to California for New Years to see Heather.

Next thing I know, November comes around and punches me in face.  Yea, November was just that violent.  First my partner in the DJing business wants to buy me out on my half of the business, and secondly November would've been my second year anniversary with Heather, but 2 days before then, I find out she's interested in another guy.  Long story short, she leaves me for him and I go into a super deep depression.  Thanksgiving occurs.  My parents gave me plane tickets to California to see Heather as a gift, whom I'm obviously not going to see any more so I'm using the tickets to visit my brother in SoCal instead.  My school work is slacking, I shed too many tears, I have no motivation.  Bleh part 3.  Just a lot of horrible timing.

December shows up at my front door and starts off crappy from the events of November.  I try to catch up in school work, sort works out, not really.  Finals show up, I suck at some of them, others I did fine in.  Bleh part 3.  

Now I'm here updating my dA and catching up as well.  And I'll be headed off to California on the 27th for about 10 days or so.  That'll be nice.  A place to get away (sorta if I don't think about Heather while I'm there).  I'll be there for new years, first time away from home for that holiday.  Mid January rolls around and I'll be headed to Vermont to do that Co-op thing and in May, I'll be back in Boston studying throughout the summer.
